My first blog post as KB Boudoir!!! Grab a cup of coffee, get cozy and settle in. I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s start from the beginning-ish. A few years ago, I started my portrait photography business taking on all creative jobs that came my way. I’m talking weddings, newborns, engagements, brand, events, pets…you get the point.
In 2020, I decided that I was going to push myself outside of my comfort zone which also coincided with feeling particularly burnt out and not as fulfilled as I hope my creative pursuit would bring. I put pen to paper and made a list of the things that inspire me, the topics I love and it went a little something like this:
- Female empowerment
- Unique beauty in all of it’s forms
- Making people, women in particular, feel like the best version of themselves
You get the idea. In February, I offered my first ever boudoir marathon to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I will admit, this was WAY outside of my comfort zone. But on that day, when I got to photograph gorgeous women of all shapes and sizes for all different reasons, something magical happened. I realized that as they began to unfold and transform in front of my lens – from nervous and apprehensive, to confident bombshell – I did too. And I quickly realized that this was it for me. And I’ve decided to chase that feeling of empowerment as a career. I’ve decided to go for it.
Enjoy my first ever blog post highlighting Ms. L, my first ever boudoir babe. Since this session, I’ve taken a deep dive into posing, lighting, outfit choices and more. You’re going to see a crazy transformation happening with my images.
