There are two things that are always really special to me.
- When other photographers trust me with their boudoir experience
- When people travel to my studio
This KB Babe did BOTH. She came all the way from Texas and combined her boudoir experience with an NYC solo trip and I couldn’t have been more grateful. Her session was full of fun chatting about books, boudoir, photography and travel. I absolutely adored her and I know our paths will cross again!

What made you want to book a boudoir session?
I had done a boudoir session in my mid twenties before having children because I knew my body would change and wanted to remember my youthful body. I also did it as an anniversary gift for my husband. Now in my forties my body has changed physically and there was a stretch of time where it didn’t feel like it belonged solely to me because it was growing, feeding and raising babies. What I wanted to celebrate this time around was that this body, MY body, is so amazing. It brought me here. It brought me joyfully through my growing up and my youthful years, it grew three healthy babies and fed them and gave them a place to feel loved and safe, it’s carried me through some of the hardest years of my life these last few years and it is strong and beautiful. I am strong and beautiful. I wanted these photos for me.
Why KB Boudoir?
I knew I wanted Katie to take my photos from the moment I found her on the gram. I just didn’t know how it was going to happen because she’s in New Jersey and I’m in Texas. It truly felt like it was just a wild dream. Her values align with my own, her thoughtfulness and care were what I knew I needed, and do we even need to talk about her artistry? I think not.
Was there anything holding you back from booking your session?
The distance!
What was your favorite part of the boudoir experience?
Obviously I loved seeing my photos, but I think my favorite part was just hanging out with Katie and getting to know her. Also, having someone be your own personal hype woman for a day isn’t at all bad.
What would you tell to someone else who is thinking about this experience but is feeling hesitant?
If you’re nervous about it, the universe is probably telling you it’s something you need to push yourself to do. And if you’re going to do it, there is no one else who will make you feel as gorgeous and give you so much care than Katie.
When you look at your photos, how would you describe the woman you see?
I see a strong, beautiful woman who is a mama, a partner, an artist, and entrepreneur and most importantly herself.
